An old, nearly broken CCTV camera was repurposed to create a Lo-Fi infrared camera, which was then used to capture landscapes and sound field recordings familiar in the hometown of Lamphun, Thailand, much like a painter with their easel. The images recorded include haystacks reminiscent of Monet’s paintings, a large rice storage barn, and a cemetery. The videos were unintentionally infused with local electromagnetic and radio waves, adding unexpected layers, as if the environment itself contributed to these “Living Paintings”.
